Botanica is an ambitious, critically lauded, modern Californian restaurant in Silver Lake with an extensive natural wine program, a provisions market and a seasonal, farmer’s market-driven menu. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organized, passionate individual to join our management team as an Assistant General Manager. Summary & Scope of Work The Assistant General Manager is responsible for supporting the GM & Management team in overall operations, performance and success of Botanica Restaurant & Market and all its employees. This includes, but is not limited to: Supporting operations efficiently and effectively in tandem with and in the absence of General Manager. Duties as assigned such as: scheduling, time sheets, tip sheets, cash handling, floor/service management, menu/POS audits, orders/deliveries, organization/cleaning, system implementation & maintenance, inventory, walkthroughs, audits, handling reservations/large parties/special events, other administrative tasks. Assist and be an active part of HR facets affecting employees and their training, performance to Botanica standard, and retention. Total guest engagement: warm hospitality, respectful & constructive responses to guest comments and criticism, all to build guest relationships, retention and satisfaction. Educate and empower associates to act in a similar capacity. Assist with market management including quality control, inventory, stocking, organization, cleanliness, signage, guest guidance, employee training, Shopify, order fulfillment, vendor deliveries, merchandising Expectations & Requirements Business Acumen: Support management in meeting or exceeding budgeted sales and profit goals, maintain labor efficiency ratios to ensure guest service and cost effectiveness. Understands or is able to build upon knowledge of business implications of decision-making and act within that understanding. Teamwork: Balances team and individual responsibilities. Exhibits objectivity and openness to team views. Gives and welcomes feedback. Contributes to positive morale & team spirit to encourage team success and achievement of goals. Attendance/Punctuality: Ability to work a flexible schedule ranging weekdays, weekends, daytime, evening, holidays. Is consistently at work and on time. Follows proper procedures when calling off work. Arrives at meetings and appointments on time. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to use reason, discretion, and tact when dealing with sensitive or emotional topics.
